Jelurida attended Bank of England's webinar on CBDC

Central bank digital currencies (CBDC) are a largely discussed topic among central banks and the financial regulators. Bank of England is no exception and recently has published a discussion paper which aims to evaluate the available solutions towards reaching this goal. The Bank is also open to evaluate distributed ledger technology as part of the process. Alberto and Francisco participated last week in a webinar dedicated to this topic where they had the opportunity to vote on the different options the bank is investigating and to give feedback on the better path to go. The bank acknowledges the advantages which the DLTs can bring but it remains to be seen whether any decentralized solution will be chosen eventually.
