December 18 - Ardor Testnet Hardfork
The Ardor testnet hardfork was completed on December 18, 2025, at block 20,200,200, marking an important milestone for the Ardor ecosystem. As part of the Ardor v.2.5.3 upgrade, the Nxt child chain is now live on the Ardor testnet, following the approval of the Nxt migration proposal by Ardor forgers and based on a snapshot of the Nxt mainnet taken at block 5,917,500 on November 23, 2025. To support testing and development, 50% of the Nxt supply on testnet has been reserved for developer accounts, meaning migrated accounts will initially receive 50% of their corresponding mainnet Nxt balance. As planned, aliases and Monetary System currency name ownership are also included in the snapshot. Looking ahead, the mainnet activation of the Nxt child chain is planned for late January 2026, based on a snapshot to be taken at Nxt block 6,000,000. Testnet participants are encouraged to start exploring the new Nxt child chain functionality.
