Ardor 2.6.1 Released — Key Updates Explained

Ardor v2.6.1 has been released and is a mandatory upgrade for all node operators. This version fixes an issue with validating transaction deadlines. Because the correction affects consensus rules, it requires a hardfork on both testnet and mainnet. The testnet hardfork is scheduled for block 20,777,000 (expected March 3, 2026), while the mainnet hardfork will occur at block 4,390,000 (expected March 12, 2026). Nodes running older versions will fall out of sync after these block heights. All operators should upgrade as soon as possible to ensure continued participation in the network. Create Your First Alias on the NXT Child Chain

In the latest episode of the Ardor Beginners Series, we explore how the Alias System works on the Nxt child chain and show how to register your first alias using the Ardor wallet. Aliases allow you to link a human-readable name to data such as an account ID, URL, or other identifier, making blockchain interactions simpler and more intuitive. It’s a practical feature for branding, payments, and organizing digital references directly on-chain. Watch the tutorial and join the discussion on the Ardor forum.
